Firearm Training

Level I: Basic Firearms Training

We will cover basic knowledge, skill and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely. It is designed for those with little to no experience with handguns, or who may be out of practice.

The first hour of class is spent in the SCSS classroom and will provide an overview of the different types of handguns and instruction of how to handle them safely, Handling of handgun ammunition, and the fundamentals of handgun shooting.

The second hour is spent at Salt Creek Range. Here you will have the opportunity to shoot your firearm, giving the instructor an opportunity to assess your skills. The basics of stance, sight picture, and trigger control, grip are emphasized to maximize and enhance knowledge and marksmanship you already possess

Level II: Intermediate Firearms Training

Intermediate Pistol is designed for those who know the basics of handgun operation and want to take the next step. The first hour of class is spent in the classroom discussing handgun and ammunition knowledge and new techniques. The second and third hours are spent at Salt Creek Range, actively shooting, learning, and practicing new techniques. Simulations with a laser pistol. Lasr app, Smokeless Range.

Techniques taught are trigger reset, chamber indicator, press checking, speed reload, tactical reload, jam clearing (3 types), double taps, and one-hand shooting

Level III: ADVANCED Firearms Training

Level III will take you above and beyond Level I & II. This course focuses on advanced shooting techniques and scenario-based drills. This course is designed for those who are serious about achieving the ultimate in marksmanship, preparedness and situational awareness. Techniques taught are: shooting and moving, multiple target engagements.

Simulation will be with Active Shooter Scenarios.
